Schreiner to host Volunteer Fair for area nonprofits

 

More than 30 nonprofit organizations will take part in Schreiner University’s Volunteer Fair, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 17 in the ballroom of the Floyd and Kathleen Cailloux Campus Activity Center on the Schreiner campus. Schreiner’s Community Volunteer Program and Student Service Council will sponsor the event.

Elizabeth Loggie, Schreiner’s volunteer coordinator, said the fair is “an opportunity for nonprofits to network among themselves and the community at large.”

“It is so rewarding to see variety of area nonprofits come together to share their services and successes with the community,” Loggie added, “and especially to showcase the multitude of wonderful volunteer opportunities in our area.”

The following organizations will be represented at the fair: Art2Heart, A Rocha USA, Angel Food Ministries, Big Brothers Big Sisters, The Big Fix Homeless Cat Program, Christian Assistance Ministry (CAM), Christian Women’s Job Corps of Kerr County, Clear River Advocates, Dietert Center, Doyle School Community Center, Freeman-Fritts Animal Shelter, Kerrville Lodge #2081 of the Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks, Greystone at Schreiner University, Girl Scouts of Southwest Texas, Habitat for Humanity, Hill Country Arts Foundation, Hill Country Automobile Club, Hill Country CASA, Hill Country CARES, Hill Country Chapter of the American Red Cross, Hill Country Youth Ranch Auxiliary, K’STAR, Kerr Arts & Cultural Center, Kerrville Public School Foundation, Kerrville State Hospital, KISD Mentoring Program, Kids’ Advocacy Place, Mothers of Preschoolers (MOPS), Peterson Hospice, Riverside Nature Center, Salvation Army, Schreiner University Community Volunteer Program, Society of St. Vincent de Paul, Texas Heritage Music Foundation, VA Hospital.
