 London actors to give workshops for high schools, community

Actors from the London Stage, one of the oldest Shakespeare touring companies in the world, will bring five noted British actors to the Schreiner University October 12-17. The actors will present three performances of Shakespeare’s “King Lear,” with tickets available to the public.

They also will present a high school theatre workshop in basic acting, movement, voice, text analysis, how to connect to the language in Shakespeare and improvisational work from 4-5:30 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 13, in the ballrooms on the second floor of the Floyd & Kathleen Cailloux Campus Activity Center on the Schreiner campus. Each of the five actors will work with up to 10 participants. This workshop will be free to the participants.

AFTLS also will offer a community theatre workshop covering the same areas from 1-2:30 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 17, at Schreiner. The cost for this workshop will be $45 per person.

General admission for the public performances is $15; student tickets are $5. Tickets are available at the information desk in the Cailloux Campus Activity Center at Schreiner; Bank of the Hills, 1075 Junction Hwy; Guadalupe National Bank, 1309 Bandera Hwy.; and Security State Bank & Trust, 1130 Junction Hwy.
