Schreiner, HCVAS Sponsor Opera Trip to Santa Fe

Schreiner University’s Center for Innovative Learning and the Hill Country Vocal Arts Society are sponsoring an opera’s lover dream of a trip to Santa Fe, N.M., August 10-15. The expedition includes round-trip travel by VIP Motor Coach, a five-night stay at the downtown Old Santa Fe Inn and four opera performances by the Santa Fe Opera: Verdi’s “La Traviata;” “The Elixir of Love,” by Donizetti; “Don Giovanni,” Mozart; and “Alceste,” by Glűck. Opera attendance is not required; there are plenty of other sights and sounds to enjoy in Santa Fe.

The cost of the trip is $885 per person/double occupancy. Single occupancy with a private bath is an extra $300. Breakfast and afternoon tea are included, and attendees also will go on a sightseeing excursion to Taos, N.M. Reserved tickets for the performances are $27 and purchased separately; unused seats will be released. Attendees will hear a performance lecture before each opera performance.

The Santa Fe Opera is internationally known for introducing new operatic works, as well for the high quality of their traditional repertoire.
