25th year of Late Night B'fast

This is the twenty-fifth anniversary for Late Night Breakfast, when Schreiner professors and staff dish up food for students on the night before the start of final exams.  The tradition was started by Dr. John Huddleston, professor of history, and former financial aid director Jeff Scofield in response to the then-President Sam Junkin talk about the need to establish traditions for the new, four-year Schreiner College.  [view photos]

"We are blessed to work closely with Sodexo," Dr. Huddleston said.  "Susie McCracken and her staff are consistently willing to go the extra mile to server our students.

"It is gratifying to see two dozen or more highly educated folk roll up their sleeves and go to work cooking and serving our students every semester.  Every semester I marvel at the time, energy and effort that people so unselfishly make to insure that Late Night is a success.  When forty students are waiting in line outside the cafeteria in thirty-five degree weather in December for a half an hour before we serve, you know the students love Late Night."
