Schreiner Former Students Association to rock out with a dance
If you haven’t worn out your dancing shoes over the Halloween weekend, make sure you mark your calendar for Saturday, Nov. 7, and head on over to the Robbins Lewis Pavilion on the campus of Schreiner University for a night fun and fellowship. “Rock on For SFSA” is intended to bring together former Schreiner students, current students and Kerrville-area community members. The dance starts at 6:30 p.m. and there is a $7 suggested donation for admission. Ages 12 and younger will get in free. There also will be food, wine, beer and soft drinks for sale.
Detroit Steel from Austin will play hits from the 50s through the 90s, including Schreiner alum Peyton Ripley, who played soccer for the Mountaineers in the early 90s. SFSA hopes alums will come out with their kids and grandkids to dance and see the campus. The Robbins Lewis Pavilion is located in near the rear Park Street entrance to the University campus.
All net proceeds will go to support the mission of the Schreiner Former Students Association, which maintains contact with all Schreiner former students from every era in the school’s history. There are approximately 11,600 living alumni, of which 8,300 live in Texas. One of the primary responsibilities of the organization is to host
Recall each spring. Recall is what Schreiner alums call their annual homecoming. The next Recall will be April 16-18, 2010.
