Annual ‘Past Is Prologue’ workshops at SU Oct. 17
The 15th annual Past Is Prologue workshop, co-sponsored by Schreiner University’s Center for Innovative Learning and Past Is Prologue: A Learning Way, will be held on Saturday, Oct. 17 at the Hanszen Fine Arts Theatre on the Schreiner campus. A Learning Way (http://www.learningpeople.org/) uses Native American oral history to examine the Native American way of teaching and learning. The event’s theme is “The Power of Native American Stories in Culture.” There will be two independent workshops: 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4 p.m.
“We recommend participants attend both workshops to get the most benefit from this transformative experience,” organizer Dr. Kathleen Hudson, said. “However, registration for a half day is possible.”
All PIP events are free and open to the public, although educators who attend can earn up to six CPE credits for the two workshops.
The morning workshop will be “Experiential Learning through a Native American Story” and the afternoon session will be “Applying Time-Tested Native American Ways by Choosing an Appropriate Path through Tumultuous Times.”
For more information or to reserve a space for the workshops, call Dr. Kathleen Hudson at 830-792-7409.
