New book club starting at Schreiner
A new nonfiction book club at
Schreiner University will have its first meeting at 7 p.m.,
Tuesday, Sept. 8, in the Scarle-Philips Room at William Logan
Library on the university campus. Dr. Fred Stevens, professor of
biology at Schreiner, will lead a discussion of “Desert Solitaire,”
by Edward Abbey.
“Desert Solitaire” is the first nonfiction book by Abbey and is
drawn from his experience as a national park ranger in the
southwestern United States.
The Nonfiction Book Club is sponsored by the Center for Innovative
learning at Schreiner and is free and open to the public. For more
