Members of the Schreiner University
Shooting Sports Society brought
home medals from the Zone 8/Bahama Mama International Trap and
Skeet Competition at the Hill Country Shooting Sports Center
this past weekend.
Freshman Caitlin Barney of Ingram took first place, A Class, in
both the International Bunker Trap Preliminary and Main events.
She also shot for first place and Open Woman Champion in the USA
Shooting Zone 8. Victoria Burch, a Schreiner freshman from
Mountain Home, took first place in the C class of the
International Bunker Trap Preliminary Event and High Woman in
the Bahama Mama Main Event.
Sophomore Kelsey Zauhar, Kerrville, took fourth
place in the A Class of International Bunker Trap Preliminary
Event and won first place in B Class in the Bahama Mama and
third place in the Open Women Category in the Zone 8
competition.
“This is very early in the year, but our student athletes are
working hard and scoring well,” Bill Thomas, the team’s coach,
said.
