The Schreiner University Ethics Team, along with its
coach, Dr. Charles Torti, recently competed in the Texas Independent
College Foundation Ethics Match in Ft. Worth, winning three rounds and
losing one. Team members are Kathy Calhoun, from Kerrville; Hannah
Clark, Winnsboro, Texas; Allison Flanders, Harper; Kevin Greathouse,
Austin; and Samantha Rawlinson, Deer Park, Texas.
“The success of many organizations, regardless of their size, is often
dependent upon forming a cohesive group out of individuals,” said Dr.
Torti, who is an assistant professor and chairman of Schreiner’s
business department. “The Ethics Team are indeed teamwork models.
They are obviously a little disappointed at losing one of the debates,
but will be the first to admit that the event was enjoyable and a worthy
experience. Henry Ford succinctly summed up the Schreiner University
Ethics Team when he said ‘If everyone is moving forward together,
success takes care of itself.’”
