Monday Night Fiction to Feature “The Speed of Dark” and
author Elizabeth Moon
Schreiner University’s
Monday Night Fiction series will discuss “The Speed of Dark” by
Elizabeth Moon at 7 p.m., Monday, September 21, in the Scarle-Philips
Room in the William Logan Library on the Schreiner campus. Dr.
Kirsten Komara, assistant professor of English at Schreiner and
director of
The Writing Center and
Honors Program, will be the discussion leader. The author will
attend the event and be available for questions.
Moon is a native of McAllen, Texas, and has two bachelor’s degrees
from Rice University, in history and biology. She is a well-known
science fiction writer and “The Speed of Dark,” a near-future tale
told by an autistic adult and inspired by her son, won the 2004
Nebula Award. Her visit to Schreiner will be hosted by the Schreiner
Honors Program.
