Chautauqua Lecture at Schreiner April 26

The Schreiner University Robert P. Hallman Chautauqua Lecture Series will present “Chemical Research: A Matter of Mechanisms” on Monday, April 26 at 7 p.m. in the ballroom of the Floyd & Kathleen Cailloux Campus Activity Center. Dr. Danette Vines, associate professor of chemistry at Schreiner, will speak.
Dr. Vines, who teaches organic chemistry, worked for more than 10 years as a research scientist in the U.S. and Germany. She believes that all scientists need a fundamental understanding of reaction mechanisms,

“If you can visualize mechanism pathways, you can create synthetic routes leading to many fascinating organic compounds,” Vines said.

All Chautauqua events are free and open to the public. For more information, please contact Martha York at the Schreiner University Center for Innovative Learning 830-792-7352 or at
