Monday Night Fiction to Feature ‘Mr. Mee’ Sept. 13
Schreiner Schreiner University’s
Monday Night Fiction series
will discuss “Mr. Mee” by Andrew Crumey at 7 p.m., Monday, Sept.
13, in the Scarle-Philips Room of the William Logan Library on
the Schreiner campus. Dr. Cole Starr, assistant professor of
religion and philosophy at Schreiner, will lead the discussion.
Crumey has a doctorate in theoretical physics and is the former
literary editor of Scotland on Sunday. “Mr. Mee,” his fourth
novel, was a New York Times Notable Book of the Year in 2000.
The book is about the eponymous protagonist, a book collector in
his 80s, who discovers the Internet and changes his life.
Central to the story is Mr. Mee’s investigation of the creation
and disappearance of the 200-year-old Rosier’s Encyclopedia.
