Schreiner fair helps volunteers find
opportunities |
|
Schreiner University is hosting its fourth annual Volunteer Fair 11 a.m.
to 1 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 16, in the second-floor ballroom of the Floyd
& Kathleen Cailloux Campus Activity Center. The fair brings together local
nonprofits and potential volunteers. This year, the fair also will feature
“Get the Scoop on SU Groups,” a chance for visitors to see what kinds of
student groups there are at Schreiner that provide a pool of volunteers for
area projects.
Among the nonprofits that will be there are Peterson Hospice, Hill Country
Arts Foundation, Families and Literacy, Texas Heritage Music Foundation,
Clear River Advocates Inc., K’Star Inc., Kerrville Public School Foundation,
Hill Country Cares, Camp Camp, Kids’ Advocacy Place, Salvation Army, Kerr
County YMCA, Art2Heart, Habitat for Humanity Kerr County, Our Lady of The
Hills High School, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Hill Country Red Cross, Relay
for Life and Kerr County 4-H.
Schreiner Volunteer Coordinator Elizabeth Loggie calls the fair “one-stop
shopping for volunteer opportunities.”
The Volunteer Fair
is free and open to the public.
For more information, call Loggie at 830-792-7211 or send her an e-mail at
