Schreiner Coffeehouse presents Carolyn Wonderland Nov. 3
Schreiner University’s Texas Music Coffeehouse series will feature award-winning Carolyn Wonderland, singer/songwriter and “guitar goddess,” at 7 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 3, in The Lion’s Den in the Floyd & Kathleen Cailloux Campus Activity Center on the Schreiner campus. Wonderland is a native Texan who counts among her many fans Bob Dylan and Ray Benson of Asleep at the Wheel. Benson produced her 2008 album “Miss Understood.” She has won numerous awards for her music including 2009 Austin Music Awards for Best Female Vocalist and Best Blues Band. Her music is primarily bluesy, often mixed with other musical genres, such as country, zydeco, soul and gospel. The B-Sides will also be appearing at the Coffeehouse, with Jacob Ames on lead vocals, Zach Salcich on harmony and bass and Lucas Ames on drums. They describe their music as “post-rock with influences in bluegrass, jazz, blues, folk, punk and lo-fi rock.”
