Schreiner pre-law and civic group to present Middle East documentary

JURIS, the Schreiner Student Pre-Law & Civic Society, will host a showing of the documentary “Little Town of Bethlehem” at 7 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 22, in the theater of the Floyd & Kathleen Cailloux Campus Activity Center on the Schreiner campus. The film also will be shown internationally on that date. The Schreiner event is co-sponsored by the University’s Center for Innovative Learning, under its Speak Truth to Power series, and is free and open to the public.

“Little Town of Bethlehem” tells the stories of three men, each with a different religious background, and how they choose to live nonviolently in violent circumstances. The film was written and directed by Jim Hanon and has a 77-minute running time. It is rated PG-13 for violent images. Schreiner faculty members Dr. Ron Hatchett, visiting professor and director of global studies, Dr. Anne Berre, instructor of political science, and Dr. Tom Wells, who founded the Speak Truth to Power series, will lead a discussion after the film.
