Schreiner Volunteer Fair draws local nonprofits, volunteers

Schreiner University will host its annual Volunteer Fair 11 a.m.-1 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 13, in the second-floor ballroom of the Floyd & Kathleen Cailloux Campus Activity Center on the Schreiner campus.

Elizabeth Loggie, associate director of volunteer programs at Schreiner, calls this event “one-stop shopping for volunteer opportunities in the Hill Country.” She added that she expects more than 40 nonprofits to participate and between 350 and 400 attendees.
 
Already registered for the 2011 fair are Youth Education Support (Y.E.S. Center) First Presbyterian Church, Hill Country Chapter American Red Cross, Volunteer Services Council for Kerrville State Hospital, Hill Country Arts Foundation, Humane Society of Kerrville, Habitat for Humanity, Hill Country CARES, Partners in Ministry, Ray and Joan Kroc Community Center, Relay for Life, Comfort Public Library, League of Women Voters-Kerrville Area, Hill Country Pregnancy Care Center, Dietert Center, Arms of Hope-Medina Campus, Big Brothers Big Sisters of South Texas, Peterson Hospice-Camp Rays of Hope, Fredericksburg Theater Company, The Golden Hub Community Center, Kerr County YMCA, and the St. Vincent de Paul Society.
 
The Volunteer Fair is free and open to the public.
