Chautauqua lecture to address freedom and responsibility
Schreiner University’s Robert P. Hallman Chautauqua Lecture Series will present “Freedom and Moral Responsibility: What the Folk Say” on Monday, Jan. 31 at 7 p.m. in the Floyd & Kathleen Cailloux Campus Activity Center Theater. Dr. Adam Feltz, assistant professor of philosophy and director of the Behavioral Philosophy Lab at Schreiner, will speak.
“The basic idea will be to show that our everyday notions of freedom and moral responsibility are important for a host of judgments such as, when does somebody deserve punishment,” Feltz said. “We’ll be working on projects about what actual people say about these issues.”
All Chautauqua events are sponsored by Schreiner’s Center for Innovation Learning and are free and open to the public. For more information, please contact Martha York at 830-792-7352 or at firstname.lastname@example.org.
