Incoming Schreiner Freshmen Take Shooting Medals

UPDATE 08.05.11:  Hodges and Meier have gone on to win multiple medals at the Texas State 4-H Championship in San Antonio. Hodges won Champion Senior 2 Modified Trap, 3rd Place Sporting Clays, 5th Place High Over All, 2nd Place SR2 Shotgun Shootout, 2nd Place SR2 Gunsmoke and 4th Place SR2 Don Snyder. Meier won 3rd Place Lady Senior 2 International Skeet, 1st Place Lady Senior 2 American Skeet, 3rd Place Lady Senior 2 American Trap, 2nd Place Lady Sporting Clays, 4th Place Lady Senior 2 Whiz Bang, 1st Place Lady Senior 2 International High Over All, 2nd Place Lady SR2 Shotgun Shootout, 1st Place Lady SR 2 Gunsmoke, 1st Place Lady SR 2 American High Over All, and 1st Place Lady Don Snyder.

At the June Kerr County 4H Skeet and Trap Shoot, two future Schreiner University freshmen scooped up medals left and right. Neal Hodges of Bandera, Texas, won 4th Place Class S2 American Skeet, 2nd place Class S2 International Skeet, 1st Place Class S2 American Trap, 2nd Place Class S2, International Trap, 3rd Place 5 Stand Sporting Class S2, 1st Place Sporting Clays Class S2 and 1st Place High Overall.

Drucilla Meier from Clyde, Texas, won 1st Place Lady American Skeet, 1st Place Lady International Skeet, 1st Place Lady, American Trap, 6th Place Lady International Trap, 1st Place Lady, 5 Stand Sporting, 6th Place Lady Sporting Clays and Runner Up Lady High Overall.

Both sports shooters will enter Schreiner in fall 2011 and will shoot for the Schreiner Shooting Sports Society, coached by Bill Thomas.
