Schreiner University Vocational Nursing Graduates Recognized at Ceremony
KERRVILLE, Texas—Graduates of Schreiner University’s vocational nursing program received their diplomas during commencement ceremonies held in the Dietert Auditorium on, April 21, before an audience of friends, family and members of the University’s academic faculty.
Members of the graduating class are: Ashley Alexander, daughter of Leonard and Geraldine Lapham; Angel Marie Ayala, daughter of Wayne and Georgette Robbins; Jennifer Kellar Berger, daughter of Don Kellar and Kathy Boyd; Tammy T. Buchanan, daughter of Consuelo V. Buchanan and Mr. and Mrs. Loyde Mark Buchanan; Amy Crawford, daughter of Pat Williams and the late Jerry Williams; Alisa Crider, daughter of Randy Walker and Audrey Crider; Crystal Eckhart; Mary Tessa Friddle; Sarah Gibbs, daughter of Scott and Teresa Rogers; Zale Gray; Devin Nicole Jackson, daughter of Chuck and Donna Jackson; Lindsay Lea Loveless, daughter of James and Genevieve Loveless; Audrie Lynn Martin, daughter of Bobby and Angelia Steele; Ricky Martin; Chandra Paine, daughter of Brett Rodriguez and Irene Paine; Carolyn Ruiz; Gary Ruiz; Susan Bishop Toews; Alice L. Webb and Melanie Will.
Gary Ruiz received the award for excellence in academic achievement, and Alice Webb and Gary Ruiz received the award for outstanding clinical performance.
The speaker for the commencement was Mark Padilla, LVN, 1998 vocational nursing graduate of Schreiner University. Padilla is employed by Dr. Clint Morris. The Peterson Regional Medical Center Cardiac/Pulmonary Unit received the Community Appreciation Award.
Schreiner University offers two rotations of its one-year vocational nursing certification program each year; one begins in January and one begins in April.
