The Wayne Kennemer Memorial
Scholarship Committee recently announced the selection of two
Schreiner University students as 2011 recipients. Texas Heritage
Music Foundation administers the $1,000 awards to students who have
demonstrated a commitment to music and who plan to continue study in
the field.
Ellena Hernandez, from Kerrville, was Schreiner Outstanding Music
Major of the Year for 2009-10 and teaches music at the Kerrville
Kroc Center in her free time. She plans to teach music in elementary
school after graduating in 2010.
Shanna Martin, from Spring, Texas, is
an accomplished vocalist, pianist and songwriter who already has two
albums to her name. |
