Schreiner to Hold Convocation Ceremony August 24

Schreiner University’s Convocation ceremony marking the start of a new academic year will be 1-2 p.m., Friday, Aug. 24, in the Dietert Auditorium on the University campus. This year’s speaker will be the Rev. Dr. Quincy Brown, vice president for spiritual life and church relations at LaGrange College in Georgia.

Brown was named national Chaplain of the Year in 2003 by the United Methodist Higher Education Foundation. A native of Gainesville, Ga. Brown was honored by his hometown’s city council with Quincy Brown Day in 2004 and also given the Wisdom and Hope Award from the Restoration Preservation Mission of Hall County.

Brown holds a Doctor of Ministry degree from Gammon Seminary of the Interdenominational Theological Center and a Master of Divinity, cum laude, from the Candler School of Theology of Emory University.
