Schreiner Choirs, Chamber String Ensemble to perform Sunday

Schreiner University choirs and the chamber ensemble will perform at 6 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 2 at First Presbyterian Church in Kerrville.

This musical event is free and open to the public.

The groups will perform music ranging from classical works including, Arcangelo Correli’s “Christmas Concerto” and two selections from Handel’s Messiah to arrangements of “Carol of Bells,” “Winter Wonderland,” “Jingle Bells” and “I Saw Three Ships.”

Michael Kahl, assistant professor of music at Schreiner University and director of the groups, said all members have been working hard to prepare for the upcoming event.

“This is the first collaborative and joint concert between the Schreiner choirs and the newly-formed chamber string ensemble,” he said. “The choir and ensemble have been working on this music since October, and we look forward to seeing everyone at this concert.”
