Schreiner Theatre Department to present ‘Travesties’ Nov. 16-18
The Schreiner University Theatre Department will present Tom Stoppard’s “Travesties” at 7:30 p.m. (2pm on Sunday) Nov. 16-18 in the Hanszen Fine Arts Studio Theatre on the Schreiner Campus.
Admission to the production is free to Schreiner students and $2 for adults and other patrons.
Stoppard’s “Travesties” centers on the fictional meeting of three revolutionary figures in Zurich in 1917 — communist leader Lenin, Dadaist poet Tristan Tzara and modernist author James Joyce. The play is a witty farce that showcases comedic wordplay and political and philosophical views of the three characters.
Some adult material appears in this production and might not be suited for a young audience.
