Schreiner puts call out to all high school artists

Schreiner University is inviting interested high school students to submit entries to the 12th annual Hill Country Art Survey, a juried exhibition that will showcase the creative expressions of budding artists. The event will be hosted from Dec. 2 to Jan. 18 by Schreiner University’s Visual Arts Department.

The categories in which students can submit work are: two-dimensional traditional media, photography — film and digital (non-manipulated) and digital manipulation/illustration.

Those interested in the exhibit are limited to three (3) entries. The deadline for entries will be 5 p.m. Nov. 8, and submissions for consideration in the show will be by email. Artists must email images as jpg or PDF files to Submitted Jpg images should not exceed 4MB. It might be necessary to email one entry at a time. Entrants need to include school name, phone number, address and email address.

There is no entry fee, but successful entrants will be responsible for delivering and picking up their artwork. Entrants that will show in the exhibit will be notified by Nov. 14, and their work must be delivered to the Schreiner University Student Activity Center between 2 and 3 p.m. Nov. 18. All work must be matted, mounted on foamcore or framed and ready to be hung. Juried work must be picked up from 2 to 3 p.m. Jan. 19.

Awards for the juried exhibition include, best-in-show, first in category, second in category and third in category. Cash prizes will be awarded to placing entrants. For more information, visit
