Department of Education Open House scheduled for October
Schreiner University’s Department of Education will host an open house for those interested in its Master of Education and Principal Certification programs from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Oct. 18 at the Alumni House on the University campus.
Dr. Neva V. Cramer, director of Graduate Education and Teacher Education at Schreiner, said the open house will be an opportunity for undergraduates, current educators and those who have an undergraduate degree but are looking to get certified in education to meet the program’s professors and get information about the hybrid, three-semester Master of Education program and the one-semester principal certification.
“Those that come to the open house will be able to learn the benefits of the program,” Dr. Cramer said. “A master’s degree opens up doors in your career — it could qualify you for an assistant principal position or an administrative job. Overall, it makes you more attractive to employers.”
Those who enroll in the master’s program will complete most of the work online and meet one Saturday a month on campus during the regular school year and every Saturday in June. The principal certification program is all online and is SACS approved.
