Sheffer to speak about college and character

Eldon Sheffer, Schreiner University director of church relations, will present the next Robert P Hallman Chautauqua lecture at 7 p.m., Monday, Feb. 27, in the ballroom of the Floyd & Kathleen Cailloux Campus Activity Center. The event is free and open to the public. Sheffer, who also teaches business ethics, will speak on “College and Character,” exploring how the faith-based college can support the development of ethical character traits in its student. Several students will speak about their experiences at Schreiner, which is joined by covenant to the Presbyterian Church U.S.A.

“Conversations and surveys of our students clearly show that for most of them the experiences they have at Schreiner help build positive traits of character,” Sheffer said.

All Chautauqua events are sponsored by Schreiner’s Center for Innovative Learning. For more information, please contact Martha York at 830-792-7352 or at mlyork@schreiner.edu, or visit the Schreiner website at www.schreiner.edu.
