Schreiner Coffeehouse presents Stephanie Urbina Jones March 7
Schreiner University’s Texas Music Coffeehouse of 2012 will feature Latina singer/songwriter Stephanie Urbina Jones at 7 p.m., Wednesday, March 7, in the Lion’s Den on the first floor of the Floyd & Kathleen Cailloux Campus Activity Center on the Schreiner campus.
Jones’s music is a unique blend of country rock and Latino pop that is drawing praise from critics all over Texas. She is the first Hispanic-American female released in the country music market in Texas, and looks very likely to be the first to break into the country genre nationwide. She will be joined on the Schreiner stage by special guest Florin Sanchez. Sanchez was the first recipient of the Wayne Kennemer Scholarship awarded by the Texas Heritage Music Foundation and has now has composed, performed and produced a CD of his own.
The Texas Music Coffeehouse series is free and open to the public. It is co-sponsored by Schreiner’s Center for Innovative Studies, the Texas Heritage Music Foundation and the Schreiner Student Activities Board.
