Symphony of the Hills to auction ‘Painted Violins’ at March 8 Concert
KERRVILLE — The Symphony of the Hills will auction its “Painted Violins” at its March 8 concert. The concert, “For the Young and Young at Heart”, will be at 7:30 p.m. at the Cailloux Theater, 910 Main St., Kerrville. A Silent Auction will be held from 6:00 to 7:15 p.m. and a live auction will be conducted during the concert intermission.
Earlier this year, the Symphony provided violins to local artists to be painted or decorated as inspired by each artist’s unique talents. The artists all donated their time and materials and all proceeds from the auction will directly benefit the symphony.
The artists participating are Halsey Bascom, Kathryn Bowen, Kathleen Cook, Norma Daniel, Evelyn Hickey, John and Edith Maskey, Mary Ann Moss, Clint Orms, Judy Richie, Andy Ritch, Richard Rouse, Nancy Wallace, Roy Lee Ward, Mary Weekley and Mary Zirkel.

The Painted Violins are currently on display at the Kerrville Arts & Cultural Center through March 4. The violins are also part of a music enrichment outreach program for local elementary schools – bringing together an artist’s presentation, a violinist playing live music, and a chance for the children to question and learn.

Symphony concert tickets can be purchased at or by calling the Cailloux box office, 830-896-9393.
