Manny Longoria III wins Schreiner University’s Accounting Excellence Award
Each spring semester, the SU Accounting Department selects one graduating senior to honor with the Accounting Excellence Award. This year, Manny Longoria III, from El Paso, won the title.
“It feels really good to have won this award because any of the other seniors that are graduating, I believe, could have easily won it also,” he said. “I honestly was not expecting to win. The thought of winning crossed my mind, but I never actually believed I would be the one.”
Longoria is a senior accounting major who also was part of the Men’s varsity basketball team for four years, and also is involved in the Tally Elementary Mentoring Program for four years, the Accounting club, Sigma Beta Delta and took part in various community service projects with the Men’s basketball program.
After graduating in May, Longoria plans to attend graduate school at University of Texas at El Paso while working part time. He hopes to be eligible to sit for the CPA exam after earning his masters in accounting.
