The Schreiner Study Club will introduce two new, global minded classes at their preview and registration session at Hunt United Methodist Church on Feb. 20 at 10:30 a.m. Professor Warren Ferguson, who is set to teach both classes, will be there to introduce both courses, which will be open to the public and each have a limit of 30 participants on a first come-first serve basis.
The first course challenges learners to view today’s changing society in a new way and contemplate how to respond to them. This course, called Geopolitical Update in a Rapidly Changing World: The United States, China and Mexico, will be held on March 6, 20 and 27.
The second course will examine the common values of people from around the world with different backgrounds. This course, called Understanding a Global Culture: Values and Visions, will be held on April 10, 24 and May 1.
“Schreiner University is so excited to announce this new educational adventure in West Kerr County,” program facilitator Sue Steele said. “We hope our neighbors will take advantage of these mini courses.”
Classes will last from 10:30 a.m. until noon. Each course costs $50 and no textbook is needed.
