Schreiner to host GAGA art exhibition Sept. 26-Nov. 21
The Gentileschi Aegis Gallery Association will present a juried art show titled, “Serving the Mature Woman Artist of South Texas” from Sept. 26 to Nov. 21 in the Floyd & Kathleen Cailloux Campus Activity Center on the Schreiner University campus.
The Gentileschi Aegis Gallery Association is a nonprofit organization that started in 2010. Its mission is to promote and serve the mature woman artist of South Texas through exhibition, promotion and education. The organization depends on outside institutions, professional offices and galleries to host its artwork.
This is the first time GAGA will display its work on the Schreiner University campus. The event is free and open to the public.
“This is a really interesting group of artists,” said David Smith, dean of the school of professional studies and professor of graphic design. “Their work will fill the CCAC, including tapestries hanging from the ceiling. This event is important because of the variety of media, scale and aesthetic expression.”
