SU Shooting Sports Team wins ACUI Lower Midwest Conference Championship

SU Shooting Sports Team wins ACUI Lower Midwest Conference Championship

Schreiner University Shooting Sports Team competed in the ACUI Lower Midwest Conference Championship Feb. 15-16 at the San Antonio Gun Club in San Antonio and won the event overall.

Colleges competing against Schreiner included, University of Texas, Texas A&M, Trinity University, Sam Houston State, Tarrant County College, Connors State College, Wichita State and Jacksonville University.

Neal Hodges ’15, from Bandera, was named best overall male shooter and Drucilla Meier ’15, from Clyde, won best overall female shooter.

Schreiner University took first place in skeet shooting. Hodges won first place Men; Logan Brinkley ’14, from Forney, won first place Lady; and Meier was third place.

SU also won first in the trap competition. Hodges won first place and Meier won second place.

In the sporting clays, SU won second place as a team. Hodges won first place and Meier won second place.

The team is sponsored by Schreiner University, Midway USA Foundation, Hill Country Shooting Sports Center, Hill Country Chapter Ducks Unlimited, Texas Hill Country Chapter Safari Clubs International and Texas Chapter of Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation.
