Kinky Friedman to read at annual Texas Writer’s Conference

Kinky Friedman, author of 34 books, songwriter, politician and owner of Utopia Rescue Ranch will be reading from one of his works at the 2014 Texas Writers Conference at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 8 in the River Room of the Floyd & Kathleen Cailloux Campus Activity Center on the Schreiner University campus. Friedman, along with Thom Moon Poet—a world traveler from Australia—and Bill Worrel—author and shamanic artist—are sure to make this year’s Texas Writer’s Conference a fun and educational event.

The year’s event, which will kick off at 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 2, will feature a creative writing workshop with Thom Moon Poet in the River Room Floyd & Kathleen Cailloux Campus Activity Center on the Schreiner campus.

Other events include open mike for readings, a reading by Kinky Friedman, slam poetry and information about shamanic art and bronze pieces.

The event is free and open to the public.
