Krysha Jesko, a senior elementary education major from Hereford, Texas, is Schreiner University’s Student Leader of the Month for February 2017.
Growing up on her family’s farm in Hereford, Texas, she attained a work ethic that carries over to her academic career. She is a student manager at the Mountaineer Fitness Center, and in the summer lifeguards at the Schreiner pool. This semester she is handler to the school’s mascot, Monty, accompanying him to many basketball games and Schreiner Saturdays.
She is also a member of the Alpha Sigma Alpha chapter at Schreiner.
Jesko wants to put down roots in the Kerrville community. She volunteers at the Youth Education Support Center, tutoring sixth graders from B.T. Wilson Sixth Grade School.
"I hope to one day find myself with a Master's degree, teaching in the Hill Country,” says Jesko. “I have fallen in love with the area and its people."
The Student Leader of the Month Award recognizes a Schreiner University undergraduate student for excellence in leadership through campus involvement, leadership activities and/or through volunteer and community service programs. For more information, send an email to email@example.com.
