Andrew Valdez has been hired as Schreiner University’s new Director of Marketing and Communications.
Valdez has worked with the Schreiner University Marketing office since February of 2016 as the Director of New Media. In that position he has overseen Schreiner’s digital assets, including website, social media, photography and video, in support of the University’s marketing goals and brand strategy.
“I'm excited to begin this new opportunity,” Valdez said. “I am looking forward to working with everyone at Schreiner, from students, faculty, staff, alumni and the community.”
Prior to joining Schreiner, he was Senior Multimedia Specialist at the Alamo Colleges – Palo Alto College. There he was able to earn regional, state and national accolades in social media and higher education communications and has presented at higher education national conferences on social media. He is currently a member of the American Marketing Association – San Antonio Chapter, member of the Public Relations Society of San Antonio and cofounder of the Convergent Media Collective, a nonprofit in San Antonio that helps local small businesses and organizations with new media solutions.
Valdez holds a Bachelor’s degree in Communication Design from Texas State University and a Master’s degree in Convergent Media from University of the Incarnate Word.
