ADMISSION

  • Direct Admission

    The Master of Business Administration in Ethical Leadership (MBA) degree is designed to strengthen candidates’ business competencies and advance business careers. The program is intended to satisfy the needs of working professionals by offering online classes. Students may be admitted to the MBA program throughout the year. Students may begin graduate studies in the fall or spring semesters.

    The MBA program involves rigorous problem solving assignments, extensive business writing, professional presentations, field research, computer literacy, business simulations, and team projects that focus on contemporary business issues. The team projects are designed to enhance the MBA student’s leadership abilities and networking.

    Candidates to the Master of Business Administration program must satisfy the following requirements for Direct Admission into the MBA program:
    1. Submit the online application form
    2. Pay the $25.00 application fee
    3. Hold a Baccalaureate degree in a business or business-related discipline from a regionally accredited university or an approved international university. For students with other baccalaureate degrees (liberal arts, sciences, etc.), please see Provisional Admissions requirements
    4. Send final official college transcript
    5. Have a 3.00 or higher GPA
    6. OPTIONAL- Write an essay on your motivating interest in a MBA degree and how you believe it will enhance your professional career
    7. OPTIONAL- Provide a professional resume detailing your career experience, especially for applicants without a business degree

     

    Schreiner University does not require GMAT or GRE scores for admission into the MBA program. However, applicants may submit their scores if they wish to as additive information for admission decision.

    Applicants may transfer in up to nine (9) hours of graduate work if the transfer courses closely align with the Schreiner University MBA courses with the approval of the Director of Graduate Business Education.

  • Provisional Admission

    Applicants not meeting one or more of the Direct Admission requirements above may be admitted on Provisional status.

    Applicants without a business-related degree may be required to complete foundation courses prior to beginning the MBA program. Professional experience may exempt an applicant from the foundation courses.

FINANCIAL AID

  • Federal Stafford Financial Aid
    U.S. citizen and/or permanent resident status graduate MBA students are not eligible for Federal Subsidized Stafford loans, but ARE eligible for Unsubsidized Stafford loans up to $20,500 for each academic year. Other financial aid options typically include the Graduate Direct Loan and Graduate PLUS Student Loans. For more details on these loan programs, please contact the Office of Admission & Financial Aid.
  • Veterans Educationsl Benefits

    All veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces, may qualify for Veterans Educational Benefits while attending Schreiner University. For more information, contact the Office of Admission and Financial Aid.

    Members of the Texas National Guard may qualify for the Texas National Guard Tuition Assistance Program through the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board. For more information, contact the commanding officer or the Adjutant General’s Office, State of Texas, P.O. Box 5218, Attn: AGTX PAE, Austin TX 78763-5218. This scholarship requires that the student meet specific guidelines as set forth by the Texas National Guard.

APPLICATION

 

  • Application Processing

    Applications will be processed when all documents are received. MBA candidates will be notified when they have been accepted into the program.

    APPLICATION DEADLINES

    August 1st for the Fall A session.

    October 1st for the Fall B session.

    December 1st for the Spring A session.

    February 1st for the Spring B session.

    April 1st for the Summer A session.

    June 1st for the Summer B session.

  • International Students

    Candidates whose country of citizenship is other than the United States may be considered for admission. International applicants must submit completed applications at least 60 days prior to the date of expected enrollment. To apply, the following documents are needed:

    1. A completed Application for Admission and $25 non-refundable application fee (U.S. dollars). Applications may be accessed at www.schreiner.edu or www.applytexas.org. An essay or comprehensive personal statement is required.
    2. A certified official copy of high school and/or college/university transcripts with each course completed and grade earned. The official copies must be translated into English. International applicants may be required to submit a detailed evaluation of their foreign coursework. Reputable companies, such as Foreign Credentials Service of America (www.fcsa.biz), offer such services. The credentials evaluation service must send the evaluation report directly to Schreiner University.
    3. Demonstrated English language proficiency (both oral and written). For students from non-English speaking countries, SAT and/or TOEFL or IELTS scores must be provided. A minimum TOEFL score of 550 (paper) or 79 (Internet) or a minimum IELTS score of 6.5 is required.
    4. Transfer students with less than 15 hours transferable college credits must also submit TOEFL or IELTS scores.
    5. Most international MBA students will reside in their home country while enrolled in the MBA program. However, if the MBA student chooses to reside on the Main Campus at Schreiner University, the regular visa requirements will apply.

    A properly completed Certification of Finances form signed and certified by an appropriate bank official, indicating the amount (in U.S. dollars) of funds available for the student to attend college.

    After the applicant is admitted, tuition for the first academic year (in U.S. funds), payable and on deposit to Schreiner University, must be received before the University Registrar may issue the Certification of Eligibility to Enroll form (I-20) to the student. Before scheduling an appointment with the Embassy to apply for the Student Visa, students are required to pay a SEVIS 1-901 processing fee (Student and Exchange Visitor Information System) in the amount of $200 directly to the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency.     Current information regarding tuition, fees, room and board, and other costs are posted on our web site at www.schreiner.edu. For students residing on the Main Campus, before checking into a residence hall, a health form must be on file in the Health Center. This form must contain immunization information, including TB test results completed within the last year and vaccination against bacterial meningitis at least 10 days before moving into the residence hall.
