Graduated May
2004

what your plans are after SU: Work on my Masters in Graz, Austria, focusing on vocal performance with opera and the German language. I feel at home there and miss it very much.
hobbies & interests/extra-curricular activities: Performing in local musicals, traveling, studying abroad, healing, singing at First Presbyterian Church, performing anywhere and EVERYWHERE. I have such a thirst for knowledge and culture. I want to visit more and more countries and immerse myself in their flavor, more. I have had the privilege and blessings to do so, including studying opera in Graz, Austria all summer, 2001.
Movies and gallery openings are a great interest to me, as well. The ambiance of walking into a gallery opening, with music filling the air and color jumping off of the wall. WOW! Then walking down the street to my favorite restaurant,
Francisco's (in downtown Kerrville) where Paco greets and seats you with grace and a smile. A jazz band starting promptly at 7:30 on that Saturday night...Food, music, art, culture. That is what it is all about.
Why
do you like Schreiner?
I have been to four universities now to complete my Bachelor's degree in 8 years instead of the "usual"
four. I wanted to go from large "may I get your SSN please" to "Hi, there Laran!"
...wherever I go on campus, from staff to profs, that is what I call a learning environment. Knowing your professor on a closer level and them being able to guide you through any need, problem
or wonderful occasion, as the supportive individuals that they are. I love it here. |
