Mr. Eldon Sheffer, instructor for Critical Thinking classes, states “at Schreiner University, Critical Thinking is a required sophomore level class that teaches students to apply "disciplined thinking following clear intellectual standards. In this class, we will discuss how to structure a case that takes one side of an issue, and how to avoid being fooled by fallacies which are plausible arguments with faulty logic. We will end with a session called "fun with fallacies" where the class tries to spot the type of logical flaws in statements. This class will be energetic, highly interactive, and give you some tools you can apply in your day to day life." Dr. Steven Ellers is an associate professor of Political Science. Dr. Ellers is a lively thinker and engaging conversationalist and delights students with his probing questions.
