Hometown: I was born and raised in Houston, Texas and went to university in Corpus Christi, TX. My husband and I married and moved to Denver, Colorado for 4 years, then moved to the Kerrville area where we have been now for 23 years.
How long have you been with Schriener? Approaching 2 years.
Where were you prior? My degree is in music. I conduct the Hill Country Chorale, Kerrville's community chorus, and the choir at Memorial Presbyterian Church in Fredericksburg . I also sing with the San Antonio Symphony Mastersingers and Canto.
What do you like best about Schreiner University? I like the academic environment. I enjoy being around people whose business is to think.
What do you like best about your position at Schreiner? I like working with computers. I like working with the students. And, I like working with Searle Crate.
What Schreiner events do you enjoy? I enjoy the music concerts.
Favorite food: Ice cream
Favorite books: R.F. Delderfield's Swann Saga beginning with "God Is An Englishman"; Orson Scott Card's "Ender's Game"; and "Speaker For The Dead". I enjoy well researched, historical fiction and science fiction about other worlds.
Favorite vacation spot: England, but I'd like to branch out to other parts of Europe. I love to travel. I will never complete my list of places to visit.
What do you like to do during your weekends? Tend my plants, read, sleep, study my music.
Is there any particular advice you would give to students? Discover what you have a passion for and pursue it.
