How long have you been with Schreiner? Where were you prior? I have been at Schreiner since 2005. Boy, has the time flown! Prior to Schreiner I was the assistant director for the Texas Arts and Crafts Educational Foundation.
What do you like best about Schreiner University? It's like being at home. Since my mom has worked here for over 20 years, I have practically grown up on this campus. I love the feeling of a great big family. Now that I live on campus, too, I really feel that sense of community with the students and staff. It really is home!
What do you like best about your position at Schreiner? Not only do I get to work with a lot of students to help them plan events, I also get to promote Schreiner to the outside community as I am marketing to business and organizations to hold events in our facilities. It's a great mix!
Favorite books: The "Left Behind" series by Tim LaHaye and Jerry Jenkins. I have read every single book in the series and will read them many, many more times.
What Schreiner events do you enjoy? There are so many different events to choose from on campus. One of my favorites is the outdoor movies. My daughter and I love to get out a blanket and lay outside under the stars watching a movie. I also love Family Weekend. It's great to see all the families come to campus and visit.
What do you like to do during your weekends? Now that I live on campus as a Resident Director, we really don't spend much time off campus. On the weekends we are catching up on things around the apartment and attending various events on campus.
Is there any particular advice you would give to students? Enjoy your time in college and experience many different things before you make a decision on what to do with the rest of your life. The real world comes way too fast. Before you know it, you'll have a career, a family and you'll cherish the days you spent here at Schreiner.
