How
long have you been with Schreiner? I started with Schreiner
May 2002 in a full-time capacity in financial aid.
Prior to that, I did my internship here in the
admissions/financial
aid office and before that was just another non-traditional business
student at Schreiner.
Where
were you prior? Prior to our move to Kerrville, I was
a full-time wife, mom to my two sons and did pro-bono work for the
PTO, Boy Scouts, the local women’s shelter and the nature
center.
What
do you like best about Schreiner University? The people,
the atmosphere, the challenge!
What
do you like best about your position at Schreiner? Getting
to help people accomplish their dream of attending college is the
best. I also like the problem-solving and the constant challenge
to improve our processes. This is definitely not a boring or slow-paced
job!
What
Schreiner events do you enjoy? My
favorite events are the
Schreiner
Saturdays. People are so excited about being here. You get
a chance to make a difference in someone’s life.
Favorite
books:
Romance (I love a happy ending!) with a dash of mystery (I love
to guess who-done-it) and humor. My favorite authors are Nora Roberts,
Julie Garwood, Linda Howard and Johanna Lindsey.
Favorite
vacation spot:
West
Texas – Davis Mountains
What do you like to do during your weekends? Sit outside,
enjoying our piece of “heaven”, have my husband cook
on the grill, watch our boys play ball and read a good book.
Is
there any particular advice you would give to students? Know
your options and do your FAFSA early! This is YOUR life so make
the most of it!
