Where were you prior?
Massey, Itschner & Company, CPA
What do you like best about Schreiner University ? I graduated from Schreiner in May 2003, so I feel like I returned "home" when I began working in the
Business office
in December. I like walking on the campus, friendly greetings from students and Schreiner employees, and the overall atmosphere of the University.
What do you like best about your position at Schreiner? I really like "crunching numbers" and solving problems. I enjoy being a part of the team that provides business assistance to the Schreiner students, faculty, and support personnel.
Favorite food: Mexican food, Chinese food, Italian food,
chocolate
Favorite books: I like to read non-fiction. I have just finished reading Power Failure: The Inside Story of the Collapse of Enron; next on the list of books to read is
The Smartest Guys in the Room, another book written about the Enron debacle.
Favorite vacation spot:
Seattle, WA; Vermont, Germany
What do you like to do during your weekends?
In the fall I enjoy attending or watching on TV the University of Texas Longhorns football games (Hook 'em Horns). I also enjoy cooking, sewing, reading, and just relaxing. For the past year and a half I've spent most of my spare time studying for the CPA exam. Most of all I enjoy spending time with my husband and our son and daughter-in-law who live in Kerrville. When I can get away for a long weekend I enjoy traveling to
Seattle to visit with our daughter (now a CPA who attended Schreiner and graduated from UT), son-in-law, and granddaughter.
Is there any particular advice you would give to students? Enjoy your time as a student. Learn from your mistakes. Have a healthy mix of studying and fun. Finally, from a business perspective, be careful with your credit cards.
