What do you like best about Schreiner University? I like the friendly atmosphere. I am very fortunate that my job allows me to work with faculty, staff and the students. Each day brings something new and interesting to do or learn.
What do you like best about your position at Schreiner? I love working with the
Teacher Education
Students. I enjoy watching them grow and mature into our future teachers. I also enjoy working with the Graduate Students even though I do not always get to meet them face to face. They are all very eager to succeed.
What Schreiner events do you enjoy? I enjoy the Staff Appreciation Luncheon, Presidents Christmas Tea,
Pat Awards,
Halloween Costume Contest, and the Supervisory Training. I also enjoy the
Wellness Program even though I do not always participate on a regular basis.
Favorite food:
I enjoy all types of food, but my favorites are probably Italian, Chinese, and Mexican. I prefer ham and seafood over beef and chicken.
Favorite books: I think that one of my favorite books is
"The Grass is Always Greener Over the Septic Tank" by Erma Bombeck. She had such a bright outlook on life.
Favorite vacation spot:
My favorite vacation spot is
Hawaii, which I would love to go to again some day. I would also like to visit
Alaska. There are so many beautiful places here in the United States that it is really hard to pick a favorite.
What do you like to do during your weekends?
I enjoy visiting with my daughter and playing with our four dogs. I also like to go to
arts & craft shows, listen to good music (my favorites are Glen Miller,
Ray Charles, the big bands of the forties, Patsy Cline, and Lionel Richie, to name a few),
and do crossword puzzles.
Is there any particular advice you would give to students?
Take pride in what you do and take responsibility for your actions. Keep an open mind and take advantage of the many opportunities that are available to you.
