How long have you been with Schreiner? Where were you prior? I came to work for Schreiner in 1994 and worked in the
College Advancement office for 2 ½ years, mainly working with the
SFSA. I moved to Austin for 2 years, then came back to Kerrville and Schreiner in 2000. Prior to coming to Kerrville, I lived in Nashville, TN for 30 years.
What do you like best about Schreiner University ? The students
What Schreiner events do you enjoy? I like the events under the
CIL umbrella - the lecture series, Monday Night Fiction, etc. Last year I attended some of the
basketball games, had fun and plan to do that again this year.
Favorite food: Chicken Fried Steak, hot biscuits and cream gravy.
Favorite books: That list is way long! Currently on my night table are Birds Without Wings by Louis De Bernieres, Moo by Jane Smiley
(for Monday Night
Fiction) and Freakonomics by Steven D. Levitt and Stephen J. Dubner

Favorite vacation spot: Make that "spots."
London, England and
San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. Actually, these are
working vacations, but Schreiner has given me the opportunity to travel to places I love to go so it doesn't feel like work.
What do you like to do during your weekends? Go out with friends and work on my needlework projects - when I'm not working on my house.
Is there any particular advice you would give to students? Yes, indeed. Take advantage of the
Schreiner study abroad program. Spend a semester studying abroad, if you can, or take one of the
Schreiner travel trips. These experiences can change your life by giving you a totally different perspective.
