How
long have you been with Schreiner? Where were you prior?
I've been at Schreiner since August 1990. (Yep, I'm a lifer!).
I started out as a secretary in Plant Operations, moved to tech
services in Logan Library, and I now work as an administrative assistant
in the Advancement department.
Before I moved to Kerrville, I lived in San Antonio and worked as
a secretary at St. Mary’s University School of Law.

What do you like best about your position at
Schreiner? I love to write and really enjoy editing,
and my position affords lots of opportunities for both.
What Schreiner events do you enjoy? Basketball games, volleyball games,
Coffeehouse
nights, Campus Ministry events—I’m sure there are others,
but I can’t seem to think of them right now.
Favorite
food: Just about anything Italian.
Favorite books: I’m
a voracious reader, so I have way too many favorites to list here.
However, I will admit to a pretty serious Harry Potter addiction!
These days, I tend to get fixated on authors—I’ll read
anything and everything Jan Karon writes.
Favorite
vacation spot: Usually our family vacations involve
visiting people rather than locations. I lived in Alaska
when I was a kid, and I would love to go back for a
vacation; it’s a beautiful place.
What do you like to do during your weekends?
Hang out with my family, putter around the house, SLEEP IN….man,
I sound boring!
Is there any particular advice you
give to students? “Don’t get married, don’t have kids; it’ll
ruin your life!” Just kidding(!) — I used to say those
words over and over to my first freshman work-study students. I
don’t mean it literally. What I mean is this: Get an education.
Get to know yourself. Live on your own. Explore. Find your
spiritual center. Enjoy the possibilities. Celebrate your life!
If you give yourself the gift of time and discovery,
you’ll have much more to offer to relationships, family,
and your community. |
