From there, we moved
to a house which stood at the edge of today's Cailloux Hall parking
lot and planted the Sycamore trees which are still there. (My mother
taught piano in our living room.) My
first memory of the campus dining hall was downstairs AC Schreiner
Hall, with long wooden tables where meals were served family style,
and metal rings around the edge of the tables served as napkin holders.
From a loudspeaker atop the "Administration Building"
(now the Weir building), bugle calls announced meals, the raising
and lowering of the flag, and bedtime.
