Why do you like Schreiner?
I love
my job, I love the people I work with, the faculty and staff here
are the BEST, and most of all, I love working with the students.
They will be taking care of US in another 15 years, so it’s
in our best interest to see that their time here provides a strong
foundation upon which to build the rest of their lives.
What
Schreiner events do you enjoy? I enjoy all of them when I
am able to attend. We have a diverse community.
Favorite books: A Distant Trumpet
by Paul Horgan; The Monkey Wrench Gang by Edward Abbey; anything
by Aldo Leopold; History of the Second Connecticut Volunteer Heavy
Artillery by Theodore F. Vaill (1868).
Favorite music: Leo Kottke, R. Carlos
Nakai, Aaron Copeland, Queen, Dire Straits, Mozart.
Favorite movie: “The Searchers”
and “Red River”
What
do you like to do during your weekends? Get on my horse and
ride across this beautiful Texas Hill Country.

Is there any particular advice you give to
students? I hope they always remember that Schreiner provides
for them a “for instance” world, so they should stretch
as far as they can, test their limits, even fall off the edge at
times. That way, they can turn around and walk into the rest of
their lives knowing that they’ve made the most of these years.
