Q & A
What is the University's class attendance policy?
Each instructor is responsible for establishing attendance standards in keeping with the nature of the course and will provide the student at the first class meeting a written copy of the policy. Developing a positive attendance policy helps to insure the likelihood of academic progress.

Where should a student go for advice on academic questions?
Each student is assigned an academic advisor through the Registrar's Office. The student should see their academic advisor with any academic questions.

Where and when can a student purchase textbooks and supplies?
A student can buy new and used textbooks and supplies at the Schreiner University Bookstore. The Bookstore should have all of the books in the week before classes begin.

If a student has been awarded work-study, when will he or she actually be assigned a job?
Students must interview and be hired for work-study jobs. Contact the Student Employment Office for specific information on work-study openings.

Where is Student Health and Wellness and when is it open?
Health and Wellness, located on the first level of the Cailloux Center, is open 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. If there is an emergency when the Health and Wellness Center is not open, contact the Security Officer on duty.

Is there a charge to use the Health and Wellness Services?
The University nurse provides first aid from injuries and limited medical and nursing care for minor illnesses. There is no charge for these services.

I need a transcipt! What do I do ????
Requests for transcripts must be made in writing to the registrar, and must include the student's social security number and signature. There is a $5.00 charge for each transcript to be sent.

What about PARKING????

Visitors can park in designated visitor parking spots across campus. At this time, no special visitor permit is required upon entering the campus. Parking lots are monitored between the hours of 7:30AM and 4:30PM Monday through Friday with the exception of Pecan Grove, which is monitored 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Please call Campus Security if you have any special parking issues at (830)739-1111.

Handicapped Parking:
The Handicap spaces are for individuals to whom handicapped stickers have been issued and for visitors with handicapped license plates and/or hanging tags.

Commuter Parking: Parking is restricted to the parking lots designated for commuters. Parking lots are as follows: Central lot, Hanszen Fine Arts lot, Edington Center, and Moody Science lot.

Vocational Nursing Students: Parking is restricted to Central lot.

Pecan Grove Resident Parking: Parking is restricted to the spaces surrounding the apartment buildings. Only one vehicle per student allowed at Pecan Grove at any one time.

Resident Student Parking: Parking is restricted to your assigned residence parking lot. Resident overflow parking is located in the tennis court lot.

Employee Parking: Employees are to park in designated areas such as: Hoon Hall, Moody Science, Tom Murray, Edington Center, Central Lot, A.C. Schreiner Hall, Hanszen Arts, Cailloux Campus Activity Center, on Hammond Dr. next to the Guy Griggs Maintenance Office, and in front of the Elaine B. Griffin Welcome Center.
